WHAT ARE THE WORKSHOPS?

Over 30 workshops are planned, from some of the country’s greatest teachers and history educators, covering a range of topics across KS3, GCSE and A level.   MORE …

WHAT ARE THE PLENARIES?

Plenary sessions focus on the big issues in history education as well as providing practical strategies for effective teaching and learning. This years’ plenary speakers include:

• The Hampshire History Team on Historical Enquiry

• Paul Salmons on Teaching about the Holocaust

• Nicola Sheldon and Jenny Keating on the History in Education Project

• Ian Dawson on Teaching the English Civil War

• Christine Counsell on ‘The times they are a changing: What do we want pupils to do with change and continuity?’

WHAT ELSE IS ON?

• Each of the Awarding Bodies will provide sessions on teaching their new GCSE specifications with a particular emphasis on the controlled assessment.

• A one-stop resources exhibition, providing a great opportunity to review the publishers’ new resources and to talk through your resources needs.
