WHAT ARE THE WORKSHOPS?

The conference will include a wide range of workshops from some of the country‘s most inspiring teachers and history educators. Workshops cover a range of topics across KS3, GCSE and A level. This year, there is a strong focus on challenging end engaging learners of all abilities, making history matter to young people and on e-learning.
You will be able to attend five workshops and will leave with a range of practical strategies and resources for developing history in your school.

WHAT ARE THE PLENARIES?

Plenary sessions focus on the big issues in history education as well as providing practical strategies for effective teaching and learning. This years’ plenary sessions are:

Lindsey Johnstone: ‘Lessons from the Past‘ – Enhancing the well-being of learners through history
Simon Schama: School history, nationhood and the new national curriculum (tbc)
Euroclio: Can history education go beyond borders?
Ian Dawson: What did the Anglo-Saxons ever do for us?
Chris Culpin: ’Here we go again‘ – planning for the next national curriculum

WHAT ELSE IS ON?

Fringe Sessions.
The conference has a lively fringe which belongs to anyone attending the conference.

Resources Exhibition
There is also a one-stop resources exhibition, providing a great opportunity to review the publishers’ new resources and to talk through your resources needs.
