The Edexcel B Schools History Project Specification separates the Development Study (Unit 1) and the Depth Study (Unit 2) in its four-module structure.
A new Development Study on The Changing Nature of Warfare has been added to the existing Development Studies on Medicine and Crime and Punishment.
For Unit 2, the Depth Study choices are: The Transformation of British Society c.1815-c.1851; The American West c.1840-c.1895; Life in Germany c.1919-c.1945.
The Source Enquiry (Unit 3) can be linked to one of the Development Studies or can focus on The Work of the Historian.
In Unit 4 (the Controlled Assessment) tasks focus on historical enquiry and on interpretations of history.
Edexcel has a number of opportunities for History teachers to join their assessment team and assist in marking of the 2010 GCSE History examinations.
